Our slates are calibrated to ensure a flat underside for solid adhesion to the floor and have a riven surface providing a natural character look. We now have two new colours in the slate flagstones, Autumn gold and Sea Green. These are available in the following sizes:
1/2" - 12" x 12" |
24" x 12" |
All of our tiles are hand made from natural products therefore, please allow for subtle variations between tiles. The characteristics of natural stone, slate and terracotta all vary considerably - minor chips and blemishes are natural effects and should not be considered the result of poor quality. We are happy to let you take away a sample, please ask for details.
Installation Recommendations
We hold a large range of the Lithofin products, used to clean, seal and protect a range of stone flooring. For full details on these products please visit the Lithofin website or contact us to request a leaflet.
Blending - we strongly advise your fitter to sort through the tiles and provisionly lay the floor in order to view the overall finish of each tile. Under normal circumstances we advise you to allow 10% for minor damages which can occur during handling, cutting and grading.
Sealing - All natural stone products need to be sealed - this must be carried out after fixing and before and after grouting. We recommend using Lithofin Stainstop, sold in either ½ litre or 1 litre tubs. Please ask for more details. Special care must be taken to avoid the sealer from coming into contact with the sides of the tiles, which could result in grout adhesion problems at a later stage.
Grouting - All joints must be filled adequately with a suitable grout product to ensure a long term performance from you floor tiles.
